VenusX Linear Accelerator

VenusX Linear Accelerator

The VenusX is a C-Arm gantry linear accelerator with kV imaging system, MV imaging system, BPS optical surface image guidance soltuions (SGRT), 4D & 6D treatment couch option, and other key components. It is designed for the delivery of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, volumetric modulated arc therapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Stereotactic Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy for the treatment of tumour patients. The system supports multiple image-guided positioning modes, including kV–kV, kV–MV, MV–MV, Surface Guided (SGRT) and CBCT-based hybrid imaging.

It is equipped with a proprietary orthogonal dual-layer multileaf collimation technology, which improves dose conformity to the target and enhances dose uniformity, while providing better protection for organs at risk. This enables more precise treatment planning and delivery, meeting clinical requirements for the accurate treatment of complex cases.

Orthogonal Dual-Layer Collimation

The system adopts an orthogonal dual-layer collimation design comprising 204 leaves (102 opposing pairs) arranged in two perpendicular layers. Precise radiation dose shaping is achieved through the vertical movement of the leaves and their mutual shielding.

Compared with conventional single-layer collimation technology, the orthogonal dual-layer approach significantly improves target dose conformity and dose uniformity. It also offers clear advantages in protecting surrounding healthy tissue and enhancing overall treatment efficiency.

Low Leakage Radiation

Non-treatment areas are protected by dual-layer shielding, effectively reducing leakage dose. In thoracic tumours such as breast, oesophageal, and lung cancers, this enables improved protection of the lungs and heart.

High Dose Conformity

For concave or island-shaped target boundaries, the dual-layer conformal design reduces radiation leakage to organs at risk. Within the treatment field, it also minimises paired leaf-end leakage that cannot be avoided with single-layer collimation, such as exposure to the spinal cord and pharynx in nasopharyngeal cancer, or the rectum in pelvic cases.

High Treatment Efficiency

A set of proprietary multi-segment algorithms allows the target to be divided into four sections. Each quadrant is modulated independently using opposing leaf banks, with coordinated motion between the two collimation layers to achieve efficient and precise intensity modulation.

MicroBeam Knife Stereotactic Radiotherapy System*

The MicroBeam Knife stereotactic radiotherapy system is a next-generation precision radiotherapy solution designed for stereotactic treatment of intracranial lesions and small extracranial tumours.

The system integrates miniature collimators with a conical motorised collimation device, delivering excellent positioning accuracy and dose conformity. It supports stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) treatment approaches, addressing the high demands for accuracy associated with high-dose clinical irradiation.

The system can be widely applied in the curative treatment of intracranial tumours, as well as lung, liver, prostate, and pancreatic cancers.
